What Do I Tutor?
My focus is to ultimately prepare students for success as adults by empowering them with writing tools and skills, and to nurture their own ability to put their ideas and stories down on paper. In my tutoring sessions, individualized instruction helps a student work on areas where they are struggling, ensuring the basics are covered, while at the same time nurturing a positive attitude about their abilities as a writer. As writing skills develop, students deepen their ability to communicate their points effectively in paragraphs and longer essays, empowering them to get A's on all of their writing assignments.
Writing Skill Development
I help students improve their writing skills using their school's writing assignments, and/or I can use my own college-prep writing curriculum.
Essay Review
Students may send me their rough or final drafts for review and feedback, with guidance on how to improve.
